Well let’s get started: Glock is a combat hand gun, and they come in 3 different sizes. I don’t recommend the sub compact for a few reasons, one is that the barrel is so short, and it’s not very accurate, and hard to control. Calibers are 9mm, 40, 45 caliber. For most women I would go for the 9mm, its easy to control, ad a well placed shot will stop most people. The 40 caliber model 22, or 23. The 22 is a full size 40 caliber, and the compact is a 23 40 caliber. 9mm has a full size, and a compact model, both I feel comfortable using. We train over 4,000 people per year and they all do very well with each of the guns I have spoken about. The 40 caliber has more recoil, and You need to be semi strong to operate it comfortably. Calif law states no more than 10 rounds can be in the magazine. Come in today and try one out during your course.
Would you rather have your child find a gun with their friend, or would you rather pay and have them come to have a professional lesson
This has become a real big question we continue to ask parents when they come come for lessons. Our firm answer is yes everyone should have the opportunity to become safe with a firearm. THE LESSON MUST HAVE AN INSTRUCTOR (DIRECTLY) PRESENT THE WHOLE TIME.
Firearms training is a great thing for kids learn, and a good skill to poses. So parents time to do the right thing, and send them here with you!
Over the fathers day weekend my staff were talking at the barbecue we, had about what questions parents should ask the parents of the children there kids are going to visit, or play:
It should be mandatory, if your child is visiting a friends home to ask this question: Are they any unsecured firearms in your home? Firearms need to be locked in a very secure container, so that that no one can gain access to them. By asking this extremely valuable question, it could save the life of your children, and their playmates. Not only this question, but all children should be taught the protocol if a firearm is found. 1. Do not touch it, 2.Leave the area, 3. Tell a known trusted adult, not just anyone. 4 Call the police.
Your children should know the 4 Firearms safety rules:
1. ALL GUNS ARE CONSIDERED LOADED
2.KEEP THE GUN POINTED POINTED IN THE SAFEST DIRECTION
3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER
4. KEEP THE GUN UNLOADED UNTIL READY TO USE
On a daily basis we continuously correct adults who have only passed the Calif 30 question test bought a firearm, with zero hands on experience. These are adults not children
It takes repetition over and over to get this to sink in to the minds of human beings. We encourage you to take this to heart, and tell every adult you know about this.
So what exactly is a Home Invasion? A Home Invasion is the process the criminals take to force entry, after they have had you under surveillance to take complete advantage of you in every way.
Home invasions are much more violent these days. Two of our clients were attacked at home at night by people they had previously employed, and they actually pulled the husbands front teeth out with pliers, and raped his wife for 3 hours in front of him. Now how can you attempt to keep you and your loved ones from being in the same situation? Here is a short list of things to help deter things? Firearm, alarm system, camera system that emails you anytime there is motion, or loud noise. Strong doors, and frames, and block piece to stop the door from being forced open. Formal training in a Home Defense course. Using common sense of knowing who is around you at all times. Remember once they have forced their way in you have roughly 3 seconds to get to your gun. First is the full length Pistol certification, then the Home Defense course will enable you to know when you can shoot, and when you can’t. In the scope of the course, you will learn how the criminals mindset works. You will learn the tactical use of a firearm. This all requires time, commitment, and a lot of ammo. The criminals are doing this 24-7, so we need to be smarter, better shots than them. What type of firearms is suggested for home defense? Semi-Automatic Pistol, and Shotgun. There are times that only a pistol is appropriate, as in small confined spaces, and then there is a time for the blast of a 12 or 20 gauge shotgun to put someone down In more of an open space. Please do not believe that you do not need to be a good shot with a shotgun, because you do. Until about 35 feet and greater distance, you are actually firing a single projectile. An AR-15 is used when there is a down turn in society, and there is zero safety anywhere. Urban warfare. We offer these type of courses weekly. Call for more info
